Ten Year Wedding Anniversary in Colorado

Ten Year Wedding Anniversary in Colorado

My husband and I recently celebrated our Ten Year Wedding Anniversary in Colorado! We had an amazing time traveling around the state and seeing some of the most beautiful scenery the United States has to offer! While I did take my camera with me, much of the trip was captured via our phones because the hike, weather, and lack of a safe way to store the camera left me no other choice.

We began our trip in Denver, where we spent a night, and explored the bustling and eclectic 16th street mall. This outdoor pedestrian mall is filled with unique shops and people. We ate at a local burger joint, where we sat at a large open window and enjoyed fabulous people watching!

The following day we picked up our rental car-which was an ORDEAL due to COVID-19- and headed to Estes Park, Colorado. This was a highlight of the trip for us because my husband had talked about taking me to Estes Park since our early dating years. He had spent time there as a kid and teenager and knew it was a place I would love-he was so right! We spent 3 days there, and it was just not long enough! We spent an entire day hiking through the Rocky Mountain National Park and then driving up the highest paved road in the US- Trail Ridge Rd. It was an intense ride! There are no guard rails on much of the road, and at 11,500 feet elevation, it is a jarring sight! The road has plenty of places to stop and take photos- which was ideal for this photographer, not so much for hubby 🙂

I especially enjoyed seeing the tundra- Desmond can attest to this as I kept talking about it! It was just fascinating to me to see that we were above the tree line and plants and grass still miraculously grow! Follow up for more of our amazing adventure next week!
